Know Your Rights, Know Your Power: Celebrate International Clash Day 2023
The ACLU-WA is proud to sponsor KEXP’s 2023 International Clash Day. This year’s theme is a callback to the legendary UK punk band’s song “Know Your Rights” – an anthem challenging the notion that democracy guarantees equal rights for all.
At ACLU-WA, vigilance is our pledge. We recognize that the right to speak freely and to protest is essential to democracy. We fight – to protect and advance freedom, equity, and justice for everyone in Washington.
The Clash used their music to speak out against government censorship, state violence and fear. We take it to the courts, legislatures, and the streets.
