OUTRISING: An Evening For Global LGBTIQ Equality

Date:
Thursday, February 7, 2019 - 6:00pm to 9:00pm
Location:
The Collective
Come join local OutRight supporters in Seattle for an evening of inspiration and community at the new urban basecamp, The Collective! We’ll enjoy delicious appetizers, wine/beer/sparkling water (cash bar available for other purchases), and mix and mingle in a beautiful, warm and comfortable new space in South Lake Union.

Our guest speakers will include OutRight’s Executive Director Jessica Stern, who has recently traveled to Beirut and Iraq, and was cited in the recent decision by the Supreme Court of India to strike down their anti-homosexuality law.  We will also welcome OutRight’s Columbia Law School Public Service Fellow Ping “Hoping” Hou, who works with OutRight’s Asia and United Nations programs. Hoping is a lawyer from Suzhou in South China who founded an LGBTIQ organization and plans to help corporations become better human rights advocates. Returning from 2018 is our fabulous and fierce emcee Laura Michalek, who is a big OutRight fan and makes every event fun and meaningful. You can bid on a private dinner party created by chef Tom Black, or a getaway to warm and relaxing destinations, and raise your paddle to support our work.

Special thanks to our incredible and dedicated host committee and event sponsors, whose dedication to equality and community inspires us everyday. Host committee members each commit to inviting 10+ new friends to OutRising who want to support our work, and receive free parking and a special gift from OutRight. Sponsorships range from $1,000-$10,000 with a variety of benefits, including recognition in event materials and on social media, free parking and a special gift from OutRight.

Together, we will support OutRight’s work to defend and expand human rights for all LGBTIQ people everywhere!
