2025 Legislative Agenda

Legislative Agenda 2025. White and yellow text set against a blue background. A red circle in the middle with 3 black and white shape cut outs

Last year, the Legislature demonstrated its leadership and promoted Washington as a beacon of liberty in the nation through expanding access to health care, safeguarding privacy, and making our criminal legal system more just.

Even with these advances, and with a second Trump administration incoming, we need our Legislature’s leadership now more than ever. While Washington’s strong state constitution and civil rights laws offer some protection, we must be prepared to defend the rights of Washingtonians. The state of Washington has a proven track record of bold, strategic action to defend and extend the freedoms, civil rights and civil liberties of its residents – and Washington’s leadership nationwide is needed now more than ever.

In 2025, we will advocate for legislation to address racially discriminatory police practices and improve safety for everyone; increase fairness in the criminal legal system; support solutions that advance health equity for immigrants; and assure that people can exercise their freedoms and live safely and securely in every community in our state. Yet again, Washington has an opportunity to set an example for the country. We call on our elected lawmakers to lead our state toward addressing the root causes of problems and building a better Washington for everyone.

We created our 2025 Legislative Agenda after deep analysis and thorough consultation with impacted community members, allied organizations, and legal and policy experts. We look forward to supporting lawmakers in Olympia as they take on the challenge of building a more equitable, safe, and just Washington.
